Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all daytoday operations in the workshop, ensuring repairs and maintenance works are carried out to the highest standards whilst meeting legislative requirements of the operations.
  • Follow ISO procedures and utilise the technology we use
  • Repair and maintain all vehicles, plant and machinery as directed either on or off site
  • Management of the Fleet daily to comply with all legal requirements
  • DVSA, FORS, Operations Licence etc.
  • Undertake training to standards agreed by the senior management
  • To comply with the company safety regulations, policies and safe working practices
  • Communicate effectively with staff / management and customers daily
  • Manage accidents and vehicle incidents working direct with the insurers, plus adding and taking off vehicles on the MID
  • Overseeing and management of the workshop team on daily basis setting objectives
  • Stock control for the department including PPE
  • Manage the departmental budget and work within it
  • Manage hiring in plant and vehicle /plant purchasing
The successful applicant will need to have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.


Required Skills:


  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • You will also have a full, clean driving licence
  • Proven working experience working with heavy plant and machinery
  • Able to supervise and motivate team members
  • Punctual, hardworking, 'can do' attitude
  • An ability to communicate effectively with staff, managers and customers, in a polite and professional manner
  • Solution focused with great problem solving skills
  • Welding experience
Health & Safety

  • Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and report any malpractice.
  • Report all accidents, incidents and near misses.
This is a full time and permanent position - Mon to Fri 45 hours per week.
About us

We comprise of two companies:

A Contractor team who work in the area of landscaping and tree surgery, and a Composting services who take green waste and convert it to compost and bark chippings as well as producing Bio-fuel.

We work across London and the SouthEast but you will be working in Scaynes Hill, near Haywards Heath in West Sussex.
