Senior Buyer – Raw Material Procurement

As a Buyer for Direct Raw Material Procurement, you will be responsible for the commodity strategy development, global sourcing, procurement and supply chain management of raw materials required for Electric Vehicle battery manufacturing to meet the strategic objectives of the organisation.

The focus on this role will be support the delivery of manufacturing operations in the UK, but as one global procurement team to deliver the most value for all global procurement and supply chain operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

· Create and execute strategic sourcing plans for direct procurement, in alignment with the company's goals and objectives.

· Driving local & global commodity and supplier strategies to secure long term supply of direct material at industry best prices and contracts terms.

· Being accountable for the negotiation, delivery and management of supply contracts and complex commercial terms & conditions.

· Managing global Supplier relationships through onboarding, development/industrialisation and through production

· Create supplier and/or commodity specific supply resilience programs to ensure a long-term supply security,by identifying, managing and mitigating all supply chain risk.

· Lead the development of commodity pricing trends through various levers like market trends and work with pricing team to develop business forecasts.

· Develop and foster strong relationships with cross functional stakeholder groups (product development, Operations, Supply chain/logistic, Finance, Quality, Corporate Strategy) to deliver maximum value in all activities.

Qualifications & Experience:

· Strong analytical and data skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively present large amounts of complex information to gain needed alignment and approvals.

· High performance mindset, that strives to deliver long-term value and benefit for the whole team

· Strong stakeholder management and relationship building and proven Cross-functional leadership skills.

· Demonstrated success in developing and executing procurement strategies that drive cost savings and operational efficiency.

· Knowledge of relevant procurement regulations, compliance requirements, and ethical practices

· Financial acumen to analyse costs, budgets, and financial implications of procurement decisions.

· Confidence to work outside comfort zones when needed, by identifying, taking ownership and delivering new ideas or areas of needed improvement, to drive value for the whole organisation.

· Experience in a Direct Procurement environment required (Experience with Raw materials, minerals, chemistry, automotive, battery/power system technology, EV propulsion, would be highly advantageous).
