Role
KBS is recruiting a Project Controller (Cost) to support the KBS Project Control Function based in Portsmouth.

This role will be responsible for supporting the Programme managers and their respective teams, with managing their monthly forecasts vs actuals and estimate to complete reporting to KBS Finance.

The Project Controller (Cost) role provides a pivotal role in the collation of data and analysis of cost data, to maintain business profitability.


Purpose
Reporting to Project Execution Planning Lead


Key responsibilities / tasks will include:

  • Organisation of weekly cost updates with Project Managers
  • Analysis of cost data charged to customer
  • Analysis of internal cost data
  • Maintaining cost integrity
  • Internal cost control, tracking estimated costs and correcting any discrepancies
  • Updating forecast togo; and being the interface(s) between Project Controls and Finance
  • Provision of statistics for driving KPIs/PIs to timely completion
  • Advising Project Managers of appropriate cost structure
  • Work closely with KBS Finance and Commercial teams to develop synergies between Project Controls and other KBS enabling functions.

Reporting duties including:


  • Project cost estimating
  • Liaison with other KBS functions
  • Uses experience and knowledge to solve problems, such as project dependencies
  • Ensures project cost estimates remain current.
  • Prioritises tasks to ensure data integrity for specific reports
  • Uses judgement to interpret internal and external issues and develop best practices.
  • Assist with development of Project Control processes and procedures
  • Full engagement with Programme/Project Managers
  • Advises on tasks required for adherence to policies and procedures
  • Assist in performing and delegating administrative office duties or projects as required or as assigned
Stakeholder management - Integration of Design Management, Project Management and Client requirements.

Qualifications:

Experience and Skills:


  • Use of Microsoft Project
  • Use of Microsoft Excel including ability to utilise formulae/pivot tables, etc
  • Understanding of project lifecycle
  • Knowledge of Sharepoint
  • Drafting and review processes (General Understanding)
  • Ability to Prioritise
