    Street Sweeper Driver Operative - PKC
    £22, - £23,
    Friarton Depot, Friarton Road, Perth, PH2 8DF

    The postholder is required to work on a variety of environment service tasks including street sweeping, refuse collection, waste disposal and grounds maintenance duties, though your primary work is street sweeping. The day-to-day operation of the post holders allocated vehicle. Independently operating a Hako Pedestrian Sweeper as requested by line manager,

    You must be able to carry out the physical demands of the post and be able to communicate effectively with team members and the public.

    The Communities Service operates new ways of working which is a variable shift system. This is SS Shift B, Week 1 Thurs - Mon, Week 2 Thurs - Fri.

    A Driving licence is essential.

    The Individual

    To be successful, you must hold a current Driving Licence.

    You will be aware of Road Transport Regulations, you will be able to carry out the physical demands of the job, and as a representative of the Council, you will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the public as well as colleagues.

    You will bring a positive energy; have the ability to work well as part of a team. You will be aware of Health & Safety legislation, you will have effective visual skills with the ability to ensure the safety of other road users and pedestrians, you will have the ability to carry out vehicle inspections, ensuring that your vehicle is safe to drive and meets all legal requirements. You will have the ability to operate and to navigate in and around the Perth & Kinross area.

    To follow through and comply with The Environment Service safe systems of work for Street sweeping (copies available on request).

    Completion of relevant daily paperwork.

    You are required to be available to work on a standby basis working additional hours outside normal working hours, including weekdays and weekends.
