    This post is Fixed term for 12 months to cover Maternity leave. We are looking for compassionate sonographers, to join our friendly, multidisciplinary ultrasound team at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust.
    Support the Ultrasound Manager and Imaging Services Manager in driving forward the ultrasound service.

    To be an autonomous practitioner working within agreed protocols and guidelines exercising independent judgment and autonomous clinical decision making in performing ultrasound examinations within a given specialty, which might include injections, FNAs or biopsies.

    To provide expert clinical and technical advice to other sonographers, trainees, SpRs, student radiographers and other health professionals.

    Use highly developed skills and knowledge to conduct a wide range of general Ultrasound procures both as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a multi professional team, in a manner that meets professional, departmental and legal standards and requirements.

    As a Clinical Specialist Sonographer in Head and Neck, you would be expected to: Be an autonomous practitioner working within agreed protocols and guidelines exercising independent judgement and autonomous clinical decision making in performing ultrasound examinations within a given speciality, which might include injections, FNAs or biopsies.

    To provide expert clinical and technical advice to other sonographers, trainees, SpRs, student radiographers and other health professionals.

    Use highly developed skills and knowledge to conduct a wide range of general Ultrasound procures both as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a multi professional team, in a manner that meets professional, departmental and legal standards and requirements.

    Work alongside ultrasound manager to maintain a cost effective, high quality service, identifying opportunities to improve patient care.
    PgD/MSc in Medical Ultrasound or Diploma in Medical Ultrasound (Obstetrics, Gynaecology +/- general ultrasound)
    Hold a current state registration certificate (HCPC, NMC)
    Have training in Head and Neck Ultrasound

    MSc qualification in Ultrasound
    Nuchal Translucency accredited (Fetal Medicine Foundation & DQASS)

    Previous experience, training and/or qualification within a designated specialty (MSK/GI/Head & Neck)
