About the job [VOLUNTEER] PR & Media Support


This is a great opportunity for anyone who is keen to develop PR & media experience in the social enterprise and charity sector.

Our HQ volunteers support our amazing team and make a real difference in the lives of the asylum seekers, refugees and migrants we work with.

Depending on the departments workload and skills / experience of the PR & Media Support Volunteer, tasks might include the below, with training and support offered throughout:

  • Pitching, coordinating local & mid-level press articles
  • Pitching and coordinating influencer class tickets and their social media coverage
  • Transcribing interviews with Migrateful chefs for press features
  • Creating, updating and editing media pitching materials e.g. info for media documents, press releases, press kit folders
  • Press and media research e.g. relevant sites, journalists, influencers, features and guides
  • Keeping media contact databases up to date
  • Saving published media coverage
  • Uploading listings to event sites and volunteer sites

THE KIND OF PERSON WERE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a passionate, efficient and committed individual with great communication skills.

Someone who is efficient, flexible and resourceful, with a calm and friendly manner, and a keen eye for detail will do well in our team.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills, a collaborative approach and the ability to build positive relationships with people at every level.


TIME COMMITMENT


The voluntary placement would last for 3 months, for a suggested time of 3 or 4 days a week depending on your availability.

Travel to our office (EC1R) and lunch expenses will be reimbursed.
