Techniche have working with a market leader in the development of solar PV and energy storage projects.

While the company headquarters are in London, they've more than a decade of experience, delivering project to multiple African countries.

We're supporting them in appointing a new Senior Solar PV Engineer to join their team, providing technical services to support the company's large-scale solar PV plant and battery energy storage development activities.

These technical services include project feasibility assessments, technical documentation reviews, design specifications and layouts, tender reviews, construction quality monitoring, testing and commissioning supervision and operational technical support.

In this role you will particularly be responsible for oversight of all project-related information technology requirements including SCADA systems, monitoring systems, controls and instrumentation and communications systems.


Key activities and responsibilities:
Working within the Engineering team and with wider organisational departments to:

  • Undertake project feasibility assessments and assist with PV plant designs
  • Undertake Engineering tasks including drafting, reviewing, and issuing technical design specifications, particularly those related to network architecture, communications systems, monitoring systems and PV plant and BESS energy management or forecasting systems
  • Provide technical support to Development Managers as well as the Project Management and the Commercial teams with technical matters
  • Perform design review of information and drawings provided by contractors
  • Review and assess proposals from third party consultants
  • Undertake site visits and assessments, including commissioning & testing witnessing
  • Assist with procurement and logistics

The role is permanent, full time, fully remote with a requirement to travel overseas for a week every two months and the salary is £40 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience.
