    Job Title: Manager Regional Trade Compliance – UK, Africa & Middle East

    Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 ( Dependent Upon Experience)

    Location : Larne.

    Job opportunity

    The Regional Trade Compliance Manager – UK, Africa & Middle East is responsible for delivering customs advisory services and oversight of customs compliance activities for Caterpillar's businesses with trade activity in the UK, Africa and Middle East.

    This role acts as a subject matter expert in the areas of import/export procedures, duty suspension administration, customs compliance process development and other trade-related compliance requirements.

    The Regional Manager is responsible for promoting customs compliance capabilities within Caterpillar's businesses, developing and leveraging deep relationships with corporate groups, such as Tax, and acting as an enabler for commercial growth in the region. The successful candidate will leverage extensive expertise and knowledge of all relevant import/export regulations, business practices, and processes to facilitate successful customs compliance across the region.

    What You Will Do:

    • Initiate, lead and participate in, as a subject matter expert for customs compliance, strategic projects and initiatives for the businesses.
    • Identify optimization opportunities related to duty suspension, preferential duty treatment and other programs.
    • Educate and effect change in region - and implement and enforce standards.
    • Analyze import and export data to identify trends, areas of concern and enhancement opportunities.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Customs and Border agencies in region, leverage those relationships to contribute to trade policy proactively.
    • Contribute to the strategic objectives of Caterpillar's Trade Center of Excellence and the wider Enterprise.

    What You Have:

    Education Requirements

    Bachelor's Degree preferred. Appropriate customs and trade compliance qualifications from recognized bodies in region also considered.

    Education Specifications

    Licensed Customs Broker or equivalent qualifications preferred.

    Experience Requirements

    Candidates will have demonstrate progressive experience in a relevant regional role for customs compliance, ideally candidates will have had exposure to global customs practices.

    Technical Customs Compliance Expertise:

    Deep expertise of customs regulations and practices across the UK, Africa and Middle East. Knowledge of the markets, issues, regulations, practices and operations of international trade; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately in diverse situations.
    Level Expert:

    • Deep experience in designing and implementing operational processes for customs compliance activities .
    • Experience of managing Global Trade Management systems

    Analytical Thinking : Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

    Level Extensive Experience:

    • Intellectual curiosity and commitment to continuous improvement.

    Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
    Level Expert:

    • D emonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively on complex customs compliance topics with all levels of the Enterprise.
    • Demonstrated experience in leading and participating as a subject matter expert in complex cross-functional initiatives and projects
    • Ability to act quickly, decisively and collaboratively across multiple functions and influence change.

    Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
    Level Extensive Experience:

    • Demonstrated ability to understand and digest complex scenarios to identify relevant issues and risks, propose solutions that take into consideration the relevant business objectives. Ability to communicate those issues, risks and solutions clearly and concisely.
