Job Title:
Commercial Executive - Combat Systems

Location:
Broad Oak, Portsmouth

Salary:
£65,000 (depending on skills and experience)

What you'll be doing:

Leading a Commercial team to deliver the management and administration of bids and contracts, predominantly UK MoD
Active participation in the business winning capture team including leading the capture team through the Request for Bid Approval (RBA) process
Drafting of any necessary contracts and agreements in accordance with policy
Working with technology and project teams to create sound business models exploiting business investments and intellectual property to generate new business, providing overarching commercial advice and guidance
Support to Procurement in the preparation of subcontract terms and conditions
Lead commercial negotiations, ensuring that this results acceptable business agreements and contracts

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

Proven team leading, including indirect leadership, experience of developing others and stakeholder management
Ability to identify and articulate sound commercial propositions, balancing risk and opportunity
Broad commercial acumen and track record in contracting on major UK programmes

Desirable:

Knowledge of UK defence sector and acquisition approaches
Experience of managing customer interfaces
Experience of contracting at a senior level

Our Commercial Function Team:

As a Commercial Executive, you will work within the Combat Systems (CS) Commercial Team providing leadership across CS bids and programmes specifically looking at new technology and business models to fully exploit BAE Systems intellectual property and investment.

You will also be supporting key stakeholders to drive strategy and plans and commercial leadership.
