- Undertake coaching assurance reviews of our branch network that not only assess the standards locally but are also opportunities for 'on-the-job' training for our branch managers.
- To be firm enough to ensure the implementation of company policy and processes yet also provide counsel and guidance on specific risks or issues that must be locally managed.
- Setting SMART actions to drive branch performance forward and monitoring the timely completion of said actions.
- To identify accidents that result in lost time or RIDDOR related injuries and ensure that accidents are effectively investigated to establish the root cause of the incident.
- Building and maintaining professional relationship with the branch network, the area director and other support functions to ensure collective success of the Huws Gray Group.
- Provide advice and support in SHEQ matters to the regional operational structure.
- Undertake training and coaching sessions for branch management to help them implement new or existing health and safety standards.
- Provide a pragmatic, risk-based approach to solving safety issues with a view to balancing financial cost versus H&S benefits.
- To actively participate in SHEQ team development and share experiences as well as maintaining one's professional competency and striving for personal development.
- To perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Health and Safety Manager from time to time.

We are looking for a HSE Advisor to join us at Huws Gray, Covering the South East
This role is covering 40 of our branches across the South East, from London down to the Kent coast.
The role will be 3 days per week out in our branches, and 2 days per week working from home, or local branch.
If you're in the trade or have ever tackled a home improvement project, you've probably heard of us. We're the Huws Gray Group and we're made up of a number of brands, including Huws Gray, Hirebase, Civils & Lintels, The Timber Group, PDM, NDI and Anglia Tool Centre to name a few. Up and down the UK, our branches are serving and supporting our local communities with all their building material needs, but we couldn't do this without the right people, so why not join us?
We rely on our HSE Advisors to contirbute to the effective implementation of the management of health, safety and environment standards in our branch network. Not only this, you'll be helping to coach and advise the branches on how to address specific issues.Working in one of our Central Support Functions you'll be part of a team where everyone is putting the effort in to offer brilliant customer service and to get the job done.

We know that you are more than just a CV and embracing everyone's individuality is what makes us great as a team. We can give you plenty of training and equip you with the tools that you'll need to succeed as a HSE Advisor, however you'll need to be pro-active and manage your time effectively, as well as being confident in your ability to influence and work with others. As well as this, a NEBOSH or equivalent certificate would be desirable.
