    Role Purpose:

    To proactively support the UK and European network infrastructure solutions (cloud & on-premise), ensuring systems remain available for the wider business.

    The role will have dual reporting, with a solid line into the Head of Infrastructure in the UK and have a dotted line into the Network manager based in the US.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    Networking:

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure to meet business requirements.
  • Configuring and optimizing network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls. (Cisco, Palo Alto)
  • Monitoring network performance and security, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
  • Planning and executing network upgrades and expansions to support business growth.
  • Implementing and enforcing network security policies and procedures to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
  • Collaborating with other IT teams and stakeholders to integrate network solutions with other systems and applications.
  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users and other IT teams.
  • Documenting network configurations, processes, and procedures for knowledge sharing and compliance purposes.
  • Conducting regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Provides Tier-3 support including but not limited to corrective actions, equipment refresh support, modernization efforts, and new network turn ups.
  • Service Line Management:

  • Implement and update ongoing performance plans with measurable metrics.
  • Effectively communicate expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraisal of job results
  • Enforce systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Insurance:

  • Advise compliance of any complaints immediately.
  • Report any suspicion of financial crime to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer immediately.
  • Operate within the Company's standards for Treating Customers Fairly.
  • Manage any potential conflicts of interest to avoid disrepute to the company's integrity.
  • General:

  • Assist staff with Network enquiries via Remedy helpdesk System.
  • Promote continuous improvement and development within our current technology stack.
  • Work closely with the Global IT Team on general support and project initiatives.
  • Follow strict change control processes and produce detailed supporting documentation.
  • Develop industry knowledge by maintaining Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
  • Provide regular reporting and commentary on networking issues/metrics, for example: Recurring problems relative time spent supporting certain business units and/or applications.
  • Experience

  • Excellent understanding of Azure hosted networking, with a strong foundation knowledge of other cloud services.
  • Excellent understanding and experience of Palo Alto / Cisco firewalls, switches, and wireless technologies.
  • Good understanding of DevOps practices.
  • Experience writing support documentation for network solutions.
  • Experience engaging with business leadership on matters of IT Networking.
  • Skills
