Description

Are you an experienced SQL Server DBA looking for your next contract role outside of IR35? We are looking for a SQL Server DBA to join a large business management consultancy based in central London.


The role and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Provide technical expertise and knowledge to maintain and update the SQL server environment
  • Report on status of all DBs, monitor and ensure consistent uptime of all backend systems.
  • Work in line with IT strategy on moving from on prem SQL to cloud technologies.
  • Ensure DBs are secure with regular access reviews.
  • Drive Efficiency through script/code modification
  • Assist other teams in with SQL Queries or gaining access to data via other reporting tools (powerBI, Tableau etc)
  • Ensure correct logging and categorisation is followed for any incidents/DB requests.
  • Ensure all databases are working within correct frameworks particularly on data privacy in multiple geographies
  • Ensure all Databases are secure and can withstand audit to maintain our ISO 27001 and other accreditations on roadmap.
  • Maintain DB security and alerting for any unauthorised access.
  • Ensure all DBs are in backup and test restores are done at regular intervals.
  • Add value by ensuring licensing is used for best efficiencies review architecture and ensure correct and best licensing is used.
  • Training on any changes that may impact service desk / support.
  • Modify existing processes for new technology's or efficiency.
This is an initial 3 month contract with a view to extend. You will required to be office based for 3 days a week.
