    Description

    To provide quality assurance support to the business in support of service delivery, with specific emphasis on support to quality assurance programmes.

    To ensure that activities (e.g.

    audits, inspections, surveys) are undertaken to establish the implementation status of the above arrangements and the reporting of such information to stakeholders (e.g.

    project team, management, clients, classification society).

    This position requires an individual who understands the structure of the Quality Management System and is familiar with reviewing and updating QMS documentation.

    Ensuring specification, technical design, product requirements and manufacturing quality arrangements are reviewed and approved in accordance with project requirements, including customer approvals.

    Identify the quality assurance processes required to reduce the risk of failure and ensure full compliance with industry standards and statutory regulations.

    Developing and maintaining Inspection & Test Plans for projects based on project specification, customer and regulatory requirements.
    Provide quality support and advice to the business by:
    Collaborating with the project team to ensure consistent project execution.
    Attending regular project meetings as a representative of the quality team.

    Ensure all defects identified during QC inspections are documented, and ensure all repairs are appropriately inspected and cleared by appropriate stakeholders.

    Interface with customers/clients and suppliers and attend to their quality-related requirements and concerns.
    Planning, conducting and reporting of audits (internal & external). Ensuring any quality non-conformances / issues are managed and closed out.
    Track quality metrics for defect occurrences, probability of occurrence. Identify and monitor KPIs for quality assurance purposes.
    Preparing quality control reports using appropriate methodology and standards.

    Monitoring progress against the site quality arrangements; identifying areas of concern to the overall project and where necessary escalate to Line Management.

    Building relationships throughout the organization to support the quality process
    Collaboration working with various functions including Operations, Project Management, Logistics, Planning and Engineering and operational teams.
    The continuous improvement of all quality processes

    Three years' experience in a similar quality assurance role, preferably in the marine or defence sectors.

    A familiarity with working in an ISO 9001 manufacturing setting, with a strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools and processes.

    Auditing experience with a minimum of ISO 9001 Internal Auditor training.
    Leadership – to encourage an understanding of quality culture around the business.
    Develop test plans and strategies, and schedule testing to mitigate risk.
    Perform risk analysis to determine areas of high probable risk.

    Comfortable working as a team player within the quality structure and the wider business, with the ability and initiative to work solo.
