We have an exciting opportunity to come join as the East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) as a Clinical Skills tutor.


This engaging and rewarding role is all about training, educating and supporting Undergraduate Students and training doctors in their core skills competencies and building their confidence to work with patients.


This role will work as a member of the Clinical Skills Team, both running and supporting skills session, events and simulation sessions alongside medical and Simulation colleagues.

Internal applicants currently employed by ESNEFT will be offered on a secondment basis only

  • Participate in the ongoing review of clinical procedures for medical students and development of UEA and Cambridge Clinical School documentation and resources
  • Examining at events at Norwich and Cambridge Clinical School
  • Attend appropriate medical school meetings and liaise with relevant medical school staff
  • Formally assessing practice of clinical skills procedures through direct observation of procedural skills (DOPs) assessment
  • Contribute to the implementation and development of undergraduate and post graduate medical education Trust wide
  • To teach practical clinical skills to the medical students within the education centre and at the bedside
  • Act as a clinical and professional role model and develops and maintains own credibility through the demonstration of consistent high standards of clinical care

  • Working as part of a Clinical Skills Team, you will teach, train and support Undergraduate and trainee Doctors to improve their core clinical skills.
  • Suggest improvements to existing ways of working and contribute to expanding our current clinical skills offering.
  • Delivery of clinical skills teaching and supervision of medical students following Trust and Clinical School guidelines in the Clinical skills room using simulation.
  • Accompanying students in the clinical area to undertake directly supervised clinical skills practice ensuring safe and correct practice
  • To teach a range of clinical skills and practical procedures to undergraduate medical students as part of the undergraduate medical curriculum
  • To attend relevant local, regional and national meetings related to clinical skills
  • Participate in the development of clinical skills training looking at ways where we can bridge the gap between the classroom and clinical environment
