Role description: Being a business partner on a broad scale of topics ranging from Finance Transformation, pursuit review & support, and M&A support, to Digital, IT, Technology, and Sustainability reporting. The GBA Finance Director- Growth reports directly to the GBA Finance Director (FD). The FD is a member of the Global Finance Leadership Team (FLT) of Arcadis Role accountabilities: Act as a business partner to support the GBA FD and the GBA leadership team:
    • Contribute financial advice towards successful technology, software, digital solutions, and innovation development and 'bring to market'. Evaluate opportunity pipeline and expenditure prioritization. Evaluate the financial robustness of clients and partners.
    • Lead finance contribution to revenue growth initiatives in close collaboration with the GBA directors for Revenue growth and Technology Development. Evaluate financial viability in relation to technical feasibility and commercial attractiveness.
    • Strategy development, M&A support, analysis, and evaluation, eg. new acquisitions of interests in products or companies or partnerships.
    • Conduct investment analyses including evaluation of stage gates and (no)go decisions; prepare scenario analyses for products, solutions, and innovation initiatives.
    • Support the business and FD FP&A and Performance management by preparing capex / investment proposals. Take an active role in investment appraisal, evaluation, and monitoring return (ROI) in the ordinary course of the business.
    • Support FD with coordination, and upfront assessment of major bids/pursuits, and help to properly align with the new harmonized pursuit process and MEPC+. Do so in strong cooperation with the GBA Sales & Pursuit function and local BA Finance, making sure relevant functional experts are involved and supportive.
    • Take responsibility for the Regional / Country Finance function and operations in the UK, Ireland, Greece, India, and Australia.
    Interact with the global finance team:
    • Take the lead and be the main GBA interface for the finance transformation implementation plan.
    • Ensure appropriate implementation and application of new Group processes/systems.
    • Cooperates with the Growth Organization team and controller to support and oversee the
    • quality of pipeline, order intake, and backlog reporting.
    • Ensure alignment with GSSC teams on non-financial reporting.
    • Ensure alignment with the Global Risk Director & GBA Risk Manager on submission and quality of major pursuits.
    Key Shared Accountabilities:
    • With the FD and FP&A Director execute the agreed-upon financial strategy focused on maximizing shareholder value associated with the GBA; encompassing all value creation levers (e.g. capital allocation, capital structure, portfolio strategy, governance) with effective communication to internal & external stakeholders.
    • Support the Global Accounting team, Group Control, Growth Organisation, and GSSC in identifying and implementing opportunities to streamline finance & non-finance reporting, quality of pursuits submission, and investment proposal.
    • Together with the other GBA SP controllers, GBA FP&A Directors, and Corporate Finance colleagues, support the CFO in designing and implementing a successful Finance organization.
    Qualifications & Experience:
    • Relevant Bachelor's or master's degree
    • With 10+ years of experience as a finance leader with broad experience in finance management and reporting in a global setting.
    • Experience as a strong business partner with an excellent understanding of client needs knowledge of project business and driving finance transformation and/or operational excellence processes (including leading, motivating, and developing remote finance teams).
