Job Description:


  • Responsible for receiving daily deliveries of product from global shipments, each product within each shipment will require a meticulous technical check to be undertaken, consistently and for each product received from logistics or in transition between markets. Each check must be recorded accurately on the technical sheets and each finding to be input manually on to SAP and Oracle. High volumes of products are received per week) each requiring a detailed check and a cross check with system information.
To take ownership of ensuring each piece of De Beers Jewellery meets the required standards.


Carry out specific piece checks of each 0.2+ carat diamond for inscription branding and hallmarks, quality check on ring size, lengths operating within client timeline expectations and, working with suppliers to achieve this.

Train new starter and follow on KPIs with Vendors, Local Mounting, FM and all Assay offices

  • Carry out a meticulous quality control check on all new products, including unique couture and high jewellery pieces. To ensure each inspection meets each technical aspect expected of the standard set by and expected of De Beers Jewellery (DBJ).
  • CoC invoice check and update
  • Record daily each technical aspect of each piece on the appropriate technical sheet/SAP, feedback to suppliers on any inspection faults.
  • Record on SAP the weight, number of diamonds, the carat, CoC, assay all relevant product details.
  • Responsible for accuracy of all details which will finally be recorded to confirm the quality expected of De Beers on the customer purchase diamond certificate.
  • Create Technical Sheets for approved prototypes
  • Responsible for checking all pieces with the original tech sheet, feedback to supplies when concerns or issues are identified. Record findings on the KPI sheets for analysis and meeting targets.
  • Communicate and agree work to be carried out to hallmark each piece, working with the London and Sheffield Assay offices to ensure De Beers is compliant and each piece is completed to DBJ and world wide requirements. Also work with the French team and French Assay office. Maintain and create KPI sheets to report on this.
  • Recording and monitoring local mounting KPIs
  • Perform Metal Analysis checks and reports on a quarterly basis
  • Responsible for using provided camera equipment to capture professionally photographs or videos of unique couture pieces for Marketing and Merchandising
  • Collaborate with Merchandising and respond in time to customer requests for pieces.
  • Use the Synth detect machinery to meet quality control checks, maintain the KPI sheet and create analysis based on these findings.
  • Responsible for examining all couture pieces, their complex parts, and branded diamonds, record each piece and all technical aspects on its unique technical sheet for easy identification.
  • Carry out quality checks for all products that are being transported between markets and photoshoots and escalate for joint decision making on items to be returned to supplier or local workshop for any repairs required.
  • Responsible for Training of new Qc members on all aspect of quality control, SAP and photography.
  • Liaising with local Thailand QC team to make sure same QC standards have been applied.

  • Qualifications
  • Experiences in carrying out technical and complex quality checks on precious stones and metals.
  • Experience of building excellent rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience photography and videography of couture and highend jewellery
