- PM Group is looking for a procurement consultant with experience of supply chain management for a manufacturing client in the West Midlands.
Responsibilities
- Working closely with a global engineering team and third party supply base from enquiry through to order.
- Supporting the project management and procurement teams in planning and executing all buying activities.
- Efficient planning, execution, and quality of all buying and procurement activities. Managing and leading members of the client engineering team.
- Working alongside existing client engineers, managers, and directors.
- Sourcing, evaluating, and engaging with new suppliers.
- Acting as a client representative in meetings and discussions with third party vendors.
- Creating tender documentation, working through the tender process, engaging potential suppliers/contractors and providing indepth tender analysis on bid returns.
- Negotiating terms with suppliers.
- Process requisitions and material orders to quality, time, price, and quality.
- Developing contracts between the client and suppliers.
- Ensuring that the projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Tracking costs against estimates and budget, providing reports as required.
- Collaborating with other client departments and requesting technical support as required.
- Other responsibilities inkeeping with the project buyer role.
- Qualifications
- Knowledge of standard industry practices, procedures and safety measures is essential.
