    Do you thrive on Employee Relations casework and coaching people? We're looking for a passionate Employee Relations expert to join our team and be part of our great culture here at Carnival UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and diverse business, working with stakeholders both ashore and those in roles on-board our ships. You'll be based out of our vibrant offices in the heart of Southampton and will be working on a hybrid basis, spending at least three days a week in the office with colleagues.

    The Role

    We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Employee Relations Consultant to join our team , In this role you'll be coaching and assisting Managers across the business to resolve queries concerning our colleagues. You will manage your own caseload and have the ability to work effectively alongside your team. You'll have previously worked in an ER casework orientated role and be able to hit the ground running.

    You will be providing consistent and specialist employee relations advice on employment related matters including, sickness absence management, disciplinary, grievance, performance management, flexible working and collective consultation to the on-board and shore side management.

    • Provide expert guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practice to ensure compliance and fairness
    • Investigate and resolve complex employee relations issues, including disputes, grievances and disciplinary matters
    • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in projects, and deliver training to stakeholders on ER casework to ensure legal compliance.
    • Actively appraise cases, learning points and support the Senior ER Consultant and ER Manager with continuous improvement of the service delivered to the wider business

    Our role categories range from CUK15 (entry-level) to CUK1 (Brand President) so you can clearly see internal development opportunities. This role is a CUK09 and is offered on a full-time fixed-term contract basis (ending on 30th November 2024), with hybrid working in our Southampton office.

    About You

    • You'll be a creative thinker, problem solver, comfortable and effective at negotiating and influencing, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will be able to quickly build rapport and profile within the business as a trusted ER expert.
    • You will be adept at risk assessing a broad context, providing options for resolution whilst analysing and balancing both operational and legal risk.
    • You will be familiar with working alongside trade unions and have a good knowledge of the trade union framework and associated collective bargaining agreements.
    • CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent relevant experience
