    Position Title: SOC Operations Team Lead

    Location: Hybrid/Manchester

    Role Purpose:

    As an Operations Team Lead, your role is instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our MXDR SOC operational processes, facilitating collaboration among team members, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Your primary purpose revolves around orchestrating the activities of your team to achieve operational excellence, meet service level agreements (SLAs), and exceed client expectations.

    Summary:

    You will be acting as the operations' team leader within the SOC, reporting to the SOC Manager.

    This role involves ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our operational processes. You will be the final point of escalation for all operations-related queries and tasks, providing leadership and guidance to the operations team. This position requires exceptional organisational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

    As the SOC Operations team lead, you are expected to set an example in both output and work ethic. Your support to the SOC operations team will be critical to the services we offer.

    What we are looking for in you:

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Monthly and Biannual Reports: Ensure smooth cycles for monthly and biannual reports, including final reviews and submission. Manage reports trackers for both monthly and biannual reports, maintaining accuracy and completeness.
  • 1st Line NCC Authenticator Support (Signify): Provide first-line support for NCC authenticator issues, resolving tickets and escalating as necessary.
  • Mailbox & ITSM Tools Management: Oversee and manage the SOC mailbox, as well as the reports mailbox, ensuring timely response and action. Assist in managing the ITSM tools, prioritising tasks, and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Ticket Reviews: Review tickets generated by the SOC team, providing feedback and guidance as necessary.
  • Process Development and Improvement: Continuously develop and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Training and Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to the operations' analyst and apprentice within the operations' team. Conduct training sessions to enhance the overall cybersecurity awareness within the team/SOC.
  • Line Management: Provide leadership and supervision to the Operations team including the apprentices, ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards. Support the apprentices on their journey with NCC and perform tasks such as completing employer references for apprentices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Ad-Hoc Tasks: Undertake ad-hoc tasks as they arise within the Operations team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience in working as a cybersecurity team leader or a similar position.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity terminology and concepts.
  • Knowledge of platforms (ITSM tools, Splunk, FAZ etc).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
  • Have excellent communications skills, both in terms of written and verbally delivered work.
