Applications are invited for a Research Associate to work on an EPSRC-funded project to explore how the onset of intrinsic magnetism in recently discovered magnetic iron-based superconductors_ _can be exploited to enhance vortex pinning and control vortex dynamics.


Investigations will be performed in collaboration with research partners at the University of Tokyo, Argonne National Laboratories and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.

You should have hands-on familiarity with magnetometry and magnetic relaxation measurements at cryogenic temperatures. Experience of low temperature scanning probe microscopy and standard nano
- and microfabrication techniques would also be an advantage.
