Data and AI/ML Engineer (f/m/d)

Your Responsibilities:

• Design and develop data pipelines that extract data from varioussources (e.g., databases, data warehouses, APIs, and externalsystems), transform data into the desired format, and load it intothe appropriate data storage systems focusing on MS Azure services(e.g., Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks)
• Ensure data consistency and integrity during the integrationprocess, performing data quality checks, data validation, andcleaning as needed
• Monitor and tune datasystems, identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, andimplement caching and indexing strategies to enhance queryperformance
• Design, develop, and deployAI/ML solutions, working closely with data scientists to transformdata insights into predictive models and intelligent systemsensuring data quality, security, and governance
• Monitor, test, and evaluate the performance of AI/MLmodels, implementing continuous improvement processes to enhanceaccuracy and efficiency
• Collaborate withbusiness teams in the areas of R&D/Clinical orManufacturing/Supply Chain to integrate solutions into businessprocesses, ensuring business impact and operational feasibility indaily activities
• Share knowledge, bestpractices, and insights in a growing data analytics and engineeringcommunity at CureVac

YourQualifications:

• University degreein computer science, data science, software engineering, or relatedquantitative field, or an equivalent qualification
• Work experience in designing and managing data pipelineswith knowledge about data modeling, ETL processes, and big datatechnologies (e.g., Spark) to support AI & ML on a publiccloud platform, preferably MS Azure
• Experience working with advanced statistics, machine learning, anddeep learning including different architectures, embeddings, lossfunctions, and optimization strategies
• Highproficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, andDataWeave and libraries/frameworks, e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch
• Ability to work in diverse, cross-functionalteams in a dynamic business environment based on agile developmentprinciples
• Capability to describe businessuse cases/outcomes, data sources and management concepts, andanalytical approaches/options also to non-technical audiences
• Fluency in English, German is a plus
