    Corporate Reporting Accountant

    Hours: 37 p/week Monday Friday (hybrid working or full time remote available) FTC until January 2025

    Working in a small team, this is a wide ranging role that has arisen due to maternity leave, working alongside a second accountant to meet the groups financial and fiscal compliance requirements.

    The ideal candidate should be qualified ACA or ACCA with a strong technical background, excellent knowledge of UK GAAP and, preferably, IFRS and experienced in the preparation of both consolidated and company statutory accounts. The candidate should also be reliable, committed, conscientious and highly motivated.

    As a Corporate Reporting Accountant, your role will include:

    Working alongside the existing Corporate Reporting Accountant, the responsibilities of this role will include, but not be limited to:
  • Preparation of consolidated group accounts (IFRS) and audit process for year end, including all related workings and disclosures.
  • Preparation of the deconsolidation of FY24 group accounts to enable preparation of subsidiary accounts for approximately 100 subsidiaries (UK GAAP) and 140 partnerships.
  • Preparation and filing of the FY24 subsidiary accounts by 31 December 2024 deadline.
  • Preparation of Corporation tax packs and workings for FY24 Corporation tax returns, liaison with, and review of draft returns prepared by, tax advisors and filing in advance of 31 March 2025 deadline.
  • Accounting for practices acquired through restarted M&A programme (goodwill, fair value adjustments, review of completion accounts etc).
  • Accounting for practice disposals through current rationalisation programme, including preparation of completion accounts where required.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Preparation of other information/ analysis requested by the business and/or external stakeholders including HMRC and debt / equity investors.
  • Other tasks in support of the Corporate Reporting function as may be required

    Key Skills
  • ACA qualified
  • Strong working knowledge and experience of UK GAAP and, preferably, IFRS.
  • Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines

  • Good attention to detail and accuracy of work
  • Can work individually or as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with staff at all levels
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
