    Job Title: Community Manager

    Reports to: Sustainability and External Affairs Manager

    Location: Head Office, Hamilton, Scotland

    Work place: Hybrid

    Must have a valid driving licence and be open to travel across Central Scotland & Northern England.

    Objective: Your role is to communicate effectively and influence a wide range of people to achieve a positive outcome. You'll need to understand the local area and its key stakeholders.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Create and manage project communications and community engagement strategies.
    2. Build relationships with stakeholders like MPs, local councillors, local communities, businesses, charities, and community groups.
    3. Promote the benefits of our projects for the environment, community, and regional economy.
    4. Work with project teams to gain community, business, and political support for new development proposals.
    5. Collaborate with the communications and digital marketing manager to create marketing materials.
    6. Prepare reports for planning applications that detail our consultations with stakeholders.
    7. Organize and attend community events to promote our projects and record feedback.
    8. Promote our Community Fund in local communities.
    9. Handle community enquiries, complaints, and feedback regarding any of our projects.

    Key Contacts: You'll interact with politicians, local community representatives, residents, council officers, consultees, project teams, and PR and digital marketing agencies.

    Working Environment: You'll be based in our Hamilton, Lanarkshire office. The role involves extensive travel throughout Scotland & north of England and attendance at occasional evening events, which may require overnight stays.

    Qualifications and Experience: You should have a degree and some experience in public affairs, community relations, sales, or customer relations. You should have excellent communication, presentation, and IT skills. You should be confident, credible, resilient, and have excellent customer care and interpersonal skills. A full UK driving licence is required.

    Desirable Skills: Experience in preparing written copy for promotional material and dealing with communication with local communities. Understanding of planning and environmental/sustainability issues relating to new developments is a plus.

    Personal Qualities: You should be customer-oriented, have integrity, and be able to lead through influence. You should have strong attention to detail, planning ability, and the ability to work with minimum supervision. You should be a good team player, able to deliver excellent results under pressure and to strict deadlines. You should have a positive attitude towards addressing the challenges facing our projects and be willing to stay updated regarding the latest industry developments.
