What does the team do?
The role is in the Invoicing team which is part of the Ledger team & is based in Leeds. The Invoicing Team is responsible for processing and paying supplier invoices and processing employee expenses.

The role will require significant interaction with the Leeds based Management Accounts team, the Central Finance team in Sheffield and with other employees across the IW&I business, as well as suppliers.


What are the key responsibilities?

  • Coding, processing and reviewing purchase ledger invoices.
  • Intensive bank verification for new suppliers or where suppliers have changed bank payment details.
  • Reviewing and reconciling purchase ledger accounts to supplier statements.
  • Preparing and processing weekly payment runs.
  • Processing employee expense claims.
  • Statement/Account query handling.
  • Purchase ledger reconciliation queries.
  • Adhoc administration duties.

What core skills and knowledge do we look for?

  • An experienced Purchase Ledger administrator.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and take ownership and responsibility for tasks.
  • Strong intellect and a pragmatic approach.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral, and an ability to communicate credibly within a professional environment.
  • An eye for detail and the ability to consider, investigate and raise wider issues.
  • A desire to maintain a high quality of output at all times.
  • Smart, professional manner and appearance.
  • Positive attitude and approachable personality.
  • Strong IT skills, in particular Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to increase work rate when required.

Any other attributes that would be helpful, but not essential for the role.

  • Knowledge of SunSystems would be advantageous (but is not a necessity).
