The Business Rates team provide a comprehensive service to a wide range of clients across the UK with the simple aim of minimising our client's liabilities and generating maximum savings through the appeal process and via rates management and payment services.


Daniel Watney's team of rating specialists, which includes two past Presidents and one Honorary Secretary of the Rating Surveyors' Association (RSA) provide industry leading advice and expertise to our clients.


The team acts on behalf of a wide range of clients, whose properties extend beyond the main bulk classes (offices, retail and industrial), from schools and hospitals to airfields and auctions sites.


_Job purpose:
_

To support the business rates team to mitigate and manage their client's business rates expenditure.

By assisting with the client onboarding process, record keeping and management of incoming rates demands, you will be enabling our surveyors to mitigateour client's liabilities effectively and efficiently.

This is a brand new position, giving you a great opportunity to shape the role alongside the support of an experienced Business Rates Surveyor.

The role is detail driven, so it's important that you have attention to detail and administrative skills. Experiencewithin a finance function will be advantageous but not essential. Previous Business Rates experience is
not a necessity.


_What you'll be doing:
_


  • Liaising regularly with our excellent and friendly team of business rates surveyors to assist them with client onboarding and endofjob invoicing.
  • Keeping records within our bespoke database and MS Sharepoint.
  • Rate payment management: processing and checking rate demands to ensure correct liability. Liaising with local authorities to ensure all credit balances are refunded.
  • Diary management.
