Our focus at Henry Cavendish is to give children the very best education and the most enjoyable, enriching learning experiences. To further develop our self-generated income, we are very excited to announce that we will be opening Henry's. This will be our very own Coffee Stop, selling a range of everyone's favourites, including expressos, lattes, cappuccino's, as well as snacks and drinks.

We are fortunate to have identified a perfect area for this at the Balham site. Over the past months, our amazing premises team have been refurbishing this area, using recycled materials, to create a fantastic space for our community. All profits will go straight back into the school and with the right support, we hope this venture will be a real success.

We are now in a position to recruit a Barista. We envisage that we will open 7 days per week starting at 6:30am weekdays.

• Provide exceptional service, create high-quality coffee beverages, and contribute to a positive customer experience at Henry's Coffee Stop
• To educate our customers on drinks menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders.
• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages such as coffee, tea, and specialty drinks
• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
• Operate espresso machines and other equipment to make quality drinks
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with patrons in a friendly manner
• Handle POS System
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently Knowledge of food preparation techniques
• Supporting the development of expanding the coffee shop

• To maintain excellent customer service, taking orders, operate espresso machines, coffee grinders, and other equipment
• Manage the POS system
• Prepare and present drinks according to established recipes and quality standards
• Preparation and/or service of drinks and food
• To complete daily cleaning schedules and carry out other cleaning duties as required
• All work to be carried out with a customer focused attitude, providing excellent customer service with a proactive work ethic
• Give customers drink menus and answer their questions regarding the coffee, brand and ingredients
• Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)
• Check if brewing / machine equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
• Comply with health and safety regulations
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning equipment and utensils
• Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items
• Assist with food preparation and other duties as needed
• Understanding of food safety guidelines

Skill & Requirements

• Basic math skills for sales and order processing
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques and safety standards
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively
• Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with colleagues

• Needs to be Fluent in English
