A European Import Specialist/Operator role tasked with the coordinating of Import shipments via Europe and working closely with customs for efficient and accurate operation of the business.

My Client is an international provider of logistics and freight services providing logistics solutions and specialising within the European region.

With a major presence across all major trade routes and known for being cost effective and reliable qualityservice they are currently providing opportunities within their European department located in Stoke.


Description
As the European Import Operative you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Develop key service relationships with customers, agents and suppliers for an effective and efficient service
  • Communicate with clients regarding consignment progress
  • Complete day to day import documentation including DEFRA declarations
  • Coordinate with customs for clearance on overseas imports + clearances
  • Ensure the delivery and or collection of goods across Europe
  • Book appropriate transport to meet requirements of goods to be transported
  • Costing and quoting clients
  • Comply with EU and UK regulations and requirements regarding export / import documentation
  • Provide assistance and cover in other areas of the operation team as required
  • Maintaining accurate administrative records
  • Resolving and managing queries and complaints courteously and efficiently

Profile
The ideal European Import Operative will have the following skills/attributes:

  • Experience of working within an Operations or Transport office.
  • Import experience.
  • Excellent time keeping
  • Ability to consolidate cargo in the UK, with a good understanding on how to maximise their trailer payloads.
  • Must be able to plan loads and have had experience with using weights/cubes.
  • Commercially aware/switched on and liase closely with the sales department
  • Good communication skills and high level of customer service.
  • Ability to work as part of a busy team.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Good communication and organising skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft packages.
