    Commercial Solicitor

    South East

    Hybrid working

    Permanent

    £70,000 to £80,000 per annum

    Sellick Partnership is working on behalf of one of the country's largest utilities companies, for a Commercial Solicitor to join on a permanent basis.

    The successful Commercial Solicitor will get the chance to work autonomously on a range of high value projects of national importance while also working closely with the wider in-house legal function. The Commercial Solicitor / Legal Counsel will work within a close-knit team, within a larger multi-specialist team.

    The Commercial Solicitor will be able to benefit from flexible working arrangements, but will be required to attend the office based in the South East twice a week.

    This is a brilliant opportunity for a qualified lawyer with previous in-house experience or an experienced lawyer looking to make the move in-house, to a major utilities company with a large and established in-house legal function.

    As a Commercial Solicitor, your role will include, but is not limited to:

    • Having full remit of non-contentious commercial matters. Dealing with complex contracting and contractual matters on a regular basis
    • Advising on the legal ramifications and structuring of a wide range of commercial arrangements and diverse projects
    • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a range of commercial contracts and agreements

    Qualifications and Experience required of the Commercial Solicitor:

    • You will be a qualified lawyer (Solicitor/Barrister/Chartered Legal Executive) with relevant post-qualification commercial legal experience
    • The ability to handle complex contracting and contractual matters and be able to work autonomously with responsibility for your own workload
    • Experience and expertise in public procurement law is not essential but is highly desirable
