Job summary


The role of the Digital Support Officer is to support local and national project implementations, alongside supporting the core business as usual already in place.


Working closely with the Digital & Transformation Lead and the digital team, the role will provide support to a range of users within GP Practices within the Wakefield locality.


This will include looking at current processes and ways of working and conduct a mapping exercise, where necessary, to new proposed processes.

Planning, organisation and delivery of face to face or virtual support and coaching will also be required.


Main duties of the job
Carry out assessments to determine the skills gaps between current and desirable skill levels

To provide support and informal training to Clinical and Non-Clinical staff as required Log and record all support activity and its outcome

Obtain feedback using an evaluation process, record and monitor the quality of support making improvements in service delivery where required

Ensure that all support materials meet relevant quality criteria and are reviewed in accordance with quality management processes

Work with practice staff on a 1:1 basis to overcome any difficulties encountered using systems Assess current processes and identify if a digital solution could solve a common problem in practices and make recommendations

Identify further training opportunities for the user and assistance to those users who require it

Adhere to confidentiality when supporting users on a live system containing patient information

Formulate a database of current systems used and contract end dates (if applicable)

Answer queries about systems used in general practice and provide help and support in these areas, routing queries to other members of the Digital team as appropriate

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

  • Good knowledge of software programmes including Microsoft Office 365 and other relative software products
  • Experience of partnership/collaborative working and of building relationships across a variety of organisations
  • An understanding of the IT function in healthcare and how information
- technology can deliver benefits to patients and clinicians


Desirable

  • Experience of working in primary care or general practice
  • Working knowledge of SystmOne and/or EMIS Web

Qualifications
