Location:
Cardiff

Salary:
£16.56/h (inclusive of 20% shift allowance)

Working hours: 36h/ week (any hours worked above 36h/week will be classed as overtime and paid accordingly)

Work schedule:

Week one: Monday
Thursday 6:00am 2:00pm; Friday 6:00am 12:00pm

Week two: Monday

Thursday 2:00pm 10:00pm; Friday 12:00Pm 6:00pm

Introduction
An exciting opportunity to join Pullman Rail, a TfW owned company, as a Skilled Fitter.

The role is expected to carry out the practical work needed to keep railway machinery and equipment running smoothly and safely.

They carry out repairs and routine maintenance.

In addition, they use a range of hand and power tools and need to learn and observe all the safety regulations for heavy maintenance work.

Role responsibilities

You'll support the implementation of the Pullman Rail Limited Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) strategy, associated actions and resulting initiatives, to deliver continuous improvement.

You'll ensure work is carried out with a continuous view to profitability and efficiency and look after our shareholders by guaranteeing that they see value for money and a profitable business.

Quality is key to competitiveness.

Take responsibility for delivering on time and on budget a high-quality product or service, which Pullman Rail can take pride in.

You'll also follow the relevant instructions, diagrams and any other specifications for overhauling traction and rolling stock components.

Who we are looking for

You'll need to have:

Completed apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in relevant discipline.
Skilled level in appropriate trade.
The ability to successfully achieve set targets and quality standards.
A genuine commitment to achieving high standards and an eye for detail to monitor the quality of work done.
Able to follow the relevant instructions, diagrams and any other specifications.

We are constantly developing our systems and techniques to reduce waste, cut down on lead and cycle times and improve efficiency in order to get vehicles back into revenue earning service as quickly as possible.

Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak Welsh would be a plus but is not essential for this role.
