    Our client, a specialised provision in Gloucester catering to the educational needs of young people aged 7 to 16 with a range of complex needs, communication difficulties, and associated challenging behaviours, is seeking an Assistant Headteacher – Quality of Education.

    This school provides full-time co-education, focusing on meeting the needs of students with social, emotional, mental health needs, autism, or behaviours associated with autism.


    About the Role:


    As the Assistant Headteacher, you will fulfil the typical responsibilities of a teacher while also being a crucial member of the senior leadership team.

    Collaborating closely with the Senior Leadership Team, SENCo, parents, Governors, and external agencies, you will be instrumental in enhancing, maintaining, and monitoring high standards of education quality across the school.


    Flexibility is key, as all members of the Senior Leadership Team are expected to ensure effective organisation and delivery of learning.

    Specific duties and responsibilities within the team will be assigned upon appointment.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Uphold and cultivate the ethos, values, and overall objectives of the school.
    • Demonstrate excellence in teaching, yielding positive outcomes and continually advancing personal teaching practices to benefit both students and colleagues.
    • Play a pivotal role in the strategic advancement of education quality and technology, crafting clear strategies and implementation plans.
    • Develop and integrate a coherent curriculum intent and implementation strategy.
    • Support all staff in recognising the significance of quality teaching, emphasising the centrality of the curriculum in all endeavours.
    • Foster high expectations among staff regarding student achievements, ensuring optimal utilisation of learning opportunities.
    • Ensure teacher subject knowledge remains robust and aligns with evolving curriculum requirements.

    Essential Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree
    • PGCE qualification
    • Evidence of ongoing professional development in school leadership, management, curriculum, and teaching methodologies.
    • Ability to identify personal learning needs and support others in recognising theirs.
    • Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience spanning primary and secondary education.
    • Proven experience in driving whole-school initiatives with successful outcomes.
    • Profound knowledge and understanding of curriculum, teaching, and learning methodologies.
