    Job Title: Workshop Mechanical Fitter
    Location: Warrington
    Type: Permanent, Full-time (37 hours per week, Monday to Friday)
    Salary: Negotiable, depending on Experience) + On Call Allowance + regular Overtime available
    On Call Schedule: 1 week in 4

    Join our thriving engineering client in Warrington as a Workshop Mechanical Fitter. This permanent role offers a 37-hour workweek from Monday to Friday, with on-call allowance and overtime opportunities.     Responsibilities:

    • Perform stripping and assessment of rotating equipment, evaluating repairs for spare parts and re-building pumps, gearboxes, fans, and other rotating equipment.
    • Utilize micrometers and internal mics, and employ a DTI to check radial and axial measurements.
    • Attend customer sites and branches to provide workshop support.
    • Liaise with suppliers, complete accurate costing sheets, and collaborate with the supervisor to provide timely quotations.
    • Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance in all workshop activities.
    • Write comprehensive root cause failure reports.
    Skills and Experience for the workshop Mechanical Fitter role:
    • Experience in stripping and repairing various pumps, including Centrifugal End suction, Centrifugal Split case, Magnetic drive, PD Rotary lobe, PD Progressive cavity, PD Gear, Liquid ring, and Multi-stage pumps.
    • Good understanding of pump components, such as volute, impeller, driveshaft, wear rings, bearing housing, bearings, and mechanical seals.
    • Proficient in measuring equipment, capable of reading micrometers and internal mics, and using a DTI to check radial and axial measurements.
    • Understanding of bearing and bore fits (e.g., J6/H6), wear ring clearances, and interpreting engineering drawings.
    • Familiarity with laser alignment techniques.
    • Qualified or apprentice-trained with an NVQ Level 3 certification.
