    Clerk to the Governing Council (Part Time, Term Time) The Opportunity

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to support the Chairman and all members of Governing Council at Benenden School, to ensure that the School's governance structure and processes function effectively and efficiently, and to enable Governing Council members to discharge their regulatory and compliance responsibilities.

    The key attributes required for this role are:


    • A good understanding of the purpose and process of board governance.

    • A very high level of organisation with the ability to work accurately under pressure, managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines in a calm and efficient manner.

    • Experience of interacting effectively at a senior level within an organisation.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    • A high competent user of IT in order to deliver own work product.

    • A very high level of professionalism with excellent interpersonal skills.

    • Discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

    This is a part time, mainly term time position. A competitive salary will be paid dependent upon experience.

    Benenden is one of the leading day and boarding schools in Britain. We were founded in 1923 and are situated in 250 acres of attractive parkland in Kent. There are 550 girls in the school, aged 11-18, with 190 of those in the Sixth Form. Benenden is at the forefront of girls' education in the UK. We are an ambitious school, with recent developments including a state-of-the-art Science Centre and All-Weather Sports Pitch, and the newly established Centenary Hall and Sir David K.P. Li Music School.
