Department Overview
We are currently preparing to upgrade OpenLink and its accompanying hardware.

This will be delivered via a project and, post-upgrade, the intention is to form a product team and continue delivering enhancements and functionality.

This is a new role that will ultimately develop and deliver the OpenLink testing framework.


Role Description
We are looking for a Test Lead on the UAT Services Team within SCO Change Delivery. The team is responsible for the co-ordination and execution of user acceptance testing for system change across MBPR.

The primary focus of this role will be to provide assurance to stakeholders that high quality, robust testing of OpenLink change has been developed and delivered before those changes are applied to the 'live' service.

This role will offer great exposure to peers in operational business teams as well as contacts in Project and Technology areas.


This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is interested in working at the forefront of system change for one of the Bank's critical systems.

Within the role, the successful applicant will have support to increase their understanding of the Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC) and will have the opportunity to acquire externally recognised testing certifications.

Within the role, you will be responsible for tasks including:

  • Coordinating user acceptance testing for OpenLink change.
  • Supporting the Test Manager with resource demands.
  • Collaborating with key contacts to plan testing timeframes.
  • Producing test documentation such as test plans and test progress reports.
  • Attending, participating in and sometimes leading meetings and workshops e.g. change planning, defect triage and lessons learned.
  • Ensuring best testing practice and good governance is upheld.

Role Requirements

Essential Criteria

  • A genuine interest in system change and user acceptance testing.
  • Strong coordination and leadership skills. You will need to set clear direction for OpenLink testing and plan and prioritise work as required.
  • Strong communication skills. You will need to work closely with your peers across MBPR and Technology and keep stakeholders team informed of key matters.
  • A good teamworking ethic and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop new relationships and adapt your style as required.
  • A proactive approach to work and an ability to quickly adjust and replan work and resources when shocks to plans occur.
  • Good workload management, well organised with the ability to work independently and call out issues to management at the appropriate time.

Desirable Criteria
While the below skills are not crucial, having one or more of them would be beneficial:

  • An understanding of or experience in user acceptance testing.
  • Understanding of how OpenLink operates at high level, either from a business, policy, or technical point of view.
  • Experience or knowledge of working with technical teams.
  • Understanding of the Bank's core purposes.
