Clinical Research Fellow in Functional Neurosurgery and Neuromodulation (Royal College of Surgeons of England approved fellowship)**Application are invited from highly motivated applicants for a full-time Fellow in Functional Neurosurgery for 12 months.


The Functional Neurosurgery and Neuromodulation Service at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is the regional provider of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS), Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS), Vagal Nerve Stimulation (SCS), Occipital Nerve Stimulation, Intrathecal Drug Delivery (ITB), selective dorsal rhizotomy for spasticity, surgical treatment of epilepsy and various cranial neuralgias.

Main duties of the job


The post holder will have the opportunity to work closely with neurology, neurophysiology and Neuro-Oncology including exposure to awake craniotomies, cortical mapping, advanced neuronavigation, DTI and other associated aspects of functional Neuro-Oncology.

The service is across the age range of paediatric and adult patients.

The post holder will participate on an on-call rota

Professional Registration

Essential criteria

  • GMC licence to practice
  • MBBS or other recognised equivalent medical qualification registerable with GMC
Professional Qualifications/Development

Essential criteria

  • MRCS (UK) or equivalent.
Desirable criteria

  • Post CCT or in final years of neurosurgical training

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
