Your new company:

Our client is a specialist engineering contractor that operate on a global scale. They are family owned and have grown massively over the last 10 years with further expansion plans in place.

Due to organic growth they are looking for a qualified Financial Accountant to join their team. You will be reporting into the Group Head of Finance and operate as the companies No.2.


Your role will be varied with a blend of both financial accounts production and finance business partnering at its core.


This opportunity is great for you if:

  • You hold a full qualification in CIMA/ACCA/ACA (or have a couple of exams remaining)
  • Are highly motivated with ambition to progress in your career.
  • Have previous experience in a commercial environment providing support and financial analysis to both financial and nonfinancial stakeholders.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and able to constructively challenge and influence at all levels.
  • You have strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Have some experience managing a team.

How you'll spend your time:


  • Producing Monthly Management Accounts for the group.
  • You will build relationships with department heads and be able to provide effective business partnering, supporting, influencing, and assisting them to effectively manage their budgets.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring strong attention to detail, ensuring the numbers are correct and coded appropriately.
  • You will support with the annual budget, forecasting and audit/yearend process.
  • Preparing and submitting the Group's VAT returns and annual PSA.
  • There is also scope for you to support with a number of special projects across this team, including new system implementations, acquisitions and wider projects to improve finance processes and reporting.
