The Briggs Equipment Group is a leading provider of asset management and maintenance solutions across the UK and Ireland. Briggs is part of the US based, Sammons Corporation group of companies. This role is a new role due to the growth of our business andforms a key part of our Finance leadership team,with responsibility for managing the Group central finance function
The Impact you will have:
- Ensure the Group's external reporting and disclosures are conducted in compliance with the external regulatory environment, Sammons's parent company policies, 3rd party requirements (e.g. funding body requirements/covenants) and local (UK & ROI) Group
- Responsibility for the production and external audit activity of the Group'sconsolidated statutory accounts (ensuring compliance with both UKGAAP and USGAAP reporting frameworks), and those of all UK subsidiary companies
- Responsibility for the Group's tax compliance (principally VAT and corporation tax), ensuring that payments to HMRC are made in a timely fashion, internal provisions are robustly maintained and appropriate treatments/ recordkeeping are in place
- Responsibility for ensuring that the company maintains an appropriate treasury capability, with oversight of the Group's funding facilities, bank accounts, FX transactions and interest rate hedging
- Ensure an effective view of the funding costs of existing and potential funding instruments used across the Group is in place and lead insight on the Group's WACC and opportunities to optimize the Group's funding portfolio
- Work across the GB & Ireland finance teams to ensure sufficient cash and working capital are maintained across the Group businesses
- Responsibility for the Group's consolidated management reporting, forecasting and budgeting framework, giving clarity across the Group on timelines and requirements, ensuring there is sufficient time for the effective analysis/challenge of submissions andsupporting the exec with insight and valuebased analysis of business unit outlooks (particularly with a view against achievement of the Group's value growth targets)
- Lead the daytoday relationship with the Sammons parent company finance team, ensuring that the UK/ROI Group's accounting practice and material decisions/treatments are understood andreflect the parent company's guidance & governance. This includes responsibilityfor all financial reporting to the Sammons parent company within required deadlines
What will help you to excel in this role:
- Experience of leading a large, centralised finance function within a group environment
- A professional accounting qualification
- Extensive professional experience in accounting, finance, and budget control
- Experience of mergers and acquisitions
- Experience in communicating at a senior management level
