In this important role you will work closely with the Corporate Governance Department Leads and colleagues across the organisation to enhance governance processes and to inform patient safety changes.

This is an opportunity to support the organisation as a whole on CQC Enquiries, CQC visits, External Accreditations and Peer Reviews, assurance and regulation and playing a key role on our journey to CQC good and outstanding.


You will provide support with the administration of the Incident & Risk Management system (Datix); administration and analysis of CQC Enquiries, External Accreditation/Peer Review visits, CQC visits, risks and other key Governance data to support the development of policies and processes which impact across the organisation to support the creation and maintenance of an effective organisational wide approach.

You will deliver Datix training as appropriate to support the process for appropriate investigation, management and closure of incidents. The post holder will support the Risk Management Strategy and Risk Maturity Programme across the Trust as necessary.


You will work closely with the Governance & Risk Officer covering Incident Management, StEIS Management and Risk Management to ensure assurance requirements are met.


You will ensure that LTH governance systems are developed in line with Trust priorities and will ensure that appropriate and accurate evidence can be retrieved from the systems and that this is provided to managers in a timely and efficient manner.

The post holder will ensure that effective systems are maintained for the provision of information on governance and risk management to provide assurances on the delivery of governance.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • To engage with stakeholders using the Datix system through delivery of training packages, bulletins, workshops, ad-hoc training support and ad-hoc support for report/dashboard extraction.
  • Propose and implement changes and redesign to the Datix system as required
  • Support with the development and update of the Datix system.
  • Ensure a thorough and robust Quality Assurance process is in place and maintained to ensure accurate and robust data collection through the Datix system.
  • Identify areas of poor Trust and Divisional performance by data analysis through the Governance & Risk Dashboard and regular reports to Governance meetings.
  • Support and administrate the CQC Enquiry process and support the Deputy Associate Director of Risk & Assurance with the submission of Trust data to the CQC.
  • Support and administrate the External Accreditation/Peer View visit process and provide Corporate and Divisional colleagues with relevant performance data.
  • Support the analysis of a wide range of complex information (principally relating to corporate, clinical and information governance), working with information systems and support the creation of reports from those systems for presentation to the Board of Directors and other Board level committees.
