    Life Works, located in Woking, Surrey, is a highly respected private rehabilitation centre with a unique therapeutic environment, leading the way in addiction and eating disorder treatment. We treat up to 18 low risk private patients for addictions and eating disorders in a Georgian house surrounded by beautiful gardens. We are easily accessible from the A3 and M25 and a 30 min walk from Woking Train station.     Job Advert Location Description

    Core shifts are 7.30am-3.30pm and 10am-6pm on a rota basis (flexible working and part time options are available)

    You will report to the Head Chef/Cook and together with your Catering Assistant colleagues you will ensure that patients, staff and visitors are offered tasty and nutritious meals which are prepared to a high standard. You will be supported by an experienced Support Services Manager and together with your colleagues from the Maintenance and Housekeeping Teams, you will ensure that the healthcare team are supported to deliver high quality care

    You will be responsible for:

  • Undertake the planning, preparation and cooking of meals, taking account of any special requests or dietary requirements within the unit.
  • Take full shift responsibility for the catering operation (in the absence of the Head Chef).
  • Ensure the cost-effective and efficient control of stock including placing orders for food products and the checking/reconciliation of deliveries. Ensure that wastage is minimised.
  • Assist the Head Chef by researching and creating new menus ensuring meals are of a high quality and compliment healthy eating guidelines.
  • Supervise assigned catering staff ensuring their quality of work continues to meet required operational standards and the company's Assured Safe Catering policies and guidelines
  • Organise and prioritise own work within established procedures, referring complex issues to senior catering staff.
  • City & Guilds or NVQ2 equivalent.

    Preferably level 3 in food hygiene or basic food hygiene with intentions of level 3.

    Knowledge of food Allergens & dietary requirements. (Specialist dietary training will be provided)
