    Job summary

    Anopportunity has arisen for a qualified Dental Nurse to work in our busy OralSurgery Outpatient Department part time 20 hours per week. The ideal personwill be an enthusiastic hard working person. The successful candidate must holda current GDC registration and hold a current post in a general dentalpractice. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills anda positive approach to patient centred care.

    Main duties of the job

    Asthe qualified dental nurse you will assist the clinician in all dentalprocedures, providing support and adviceto the patient in the oral surgery department. You will demonstrate compliancewith the responsibilities and registration to practice with the General DentalCouncil.

    We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

  • Assisting the dental officer in all clinical dental procedures

  • Dealing effectively with medically compromised patients
  • Qualifications

    Essential

  • NEBDN National Dipolma in Dental Nursing
  • Minimum of 4 GCSE's
  • Verifiable Professional Development hours.
  • Desirable

  • Experience of assisting in Oral Surgery procedures.
  • Special Requirements

    Essential

  • Ability to organise own and the work of others whilst under pressure.
  • Hold a current post within a general dental practice.
