Product Lead, ARIA

Salary c.£95,000 per annum

HQ Central London, 3 days a week in the office

The Product Team
The Product Team at ARIA will serve as the 'central brain' of the agency.

The product you'll be delivering isn't software, it's a world-changing R&D programme experience - the first of its kind in the UK.

This will be a small, foundational team executing (fast)on a whole range of activities core to ARIA's success. You'll collaborate with other internal functions and work closely with ARIA's Programme Directors.

Above all, you'll need a flexible mindset (we'll be defining as we go), and excitement for what the teamis creating.


What You'll Do:


  • Manage the strategic and operational design of ARIA BUILD, shaping critical work on both the 'what' and the 'how', including:
  • Facilitating design sessions
  • Owning research into technical funding mechanisms
  • Delivering external workshops, codifying partnerships
  • Building short and long term talent pipelines
  • Work on the design, codification and implementation of ARIA's DRIVE programmes, including how we:
  • Train our Programme Directors
  • Make programme funding decisions
  • Track and measure programme progress
  • Provide Programme Directors with agile, operational and technical support
  • Develop, test and launch new ARIA products based on feedback, data, and learning.
  • Grow strong networks of public sector, charity, university and private sector organisations, finding collaboration opportunities for ARIA BUILD.
  • Learn what it takes to build an 'ARPAstyle' agency from scratch, forming high value relationships with advisors, organisations and scientists, internationally.
  • As a founding member of the ARIA product team, you will play an active role in developing the ARIA product function's mission, core principles and culture.

Who You Are:


  • You have product and/or programme delivery experience. This might include sciencerelated programme delivery in a private sector context (e.g. investment programmes, talent programmes, accelerators/incubators) or traditional product management experiencewithin a startup or technology company.
  • You have experience setting up new private and/or public institutions, labs or teams.
  • You have a strong understanding of the UK R&D institutional landscape, and/or experience working closely with scientists, engineers, technologists.
  • You have a strong product mindset and experience designing, building and implementing products and processes from scratch.
  • You are detaildriven, precise and hold yourself to a high standard of operational excellence.
  • You are able to flex your communication style towards different stakeholders/team members, and have experience of bringing together crossfunctional teams towards a common goal.
  • You have experience building and managing senior stakeholder networks.
  • You are comfortable with uncertainty and thrive in highly dynamic, high stakes situations. You're excited by an environment that feels like a fastpaced, earlystage startup.

Terms of Appointment:


  • Salary: A competitive salary will be paid to reflect the importance of the role and the skills and experience of the success c.£95,000 per annum.
  • Reports to: Director of Product.
  • Location: HQ Central London, 3 days a week in the office
