Description

Provide consistency in assessment of all patients, irrespective of injury cause, age, status, giving access to the earliest possible specialist legal advice which supports rehabilitation and NHS cost recovery.


Drive performance and quality of casework:
identifying, promoting and sharing good practice; recommending and implementing improvements.

Be accountable for collection, collation and analysis of quantitative and qualitative Casework data and information for the purpose of internal and external reporting, ensuring the caseworker team understand their responsibilities in relation to this to protect and manage data held by Day One.

Present confidently in a professional manner to establish and maintain effective relationships with funders, partners, and other stakeholders to promote Day One and address the needs of those affected by catastrophic injury.


Keep records of activity and intervention with all beneficiaries, maintaining detailed case records for the purpose of continuity of casework and monitoring and evaluation.

Build awareness of the role and charitys purpose through strong relationships across major trauma networks, ensuring eligible people everywhere have access to Day One support.

Build a central resource of national support available for those affected by major trauma. Implement procedures and processes to collect patient and family feedback.

Identify and support the recruitment of new volunteers, where appropriate. Support the roll out of our Peer Support service, focussed on promoting awareness and uptake nationally.

Be the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the organisation, working closely with the wider team on performance, quality, safety and effectiveness of all services, ensuring appropriate safeguarding policies are followed.

Oversee delegated budgets and ensure expenditure is within agreed limits.


Work closely with our Fundraising and Communications team, supporting national activity, as well as regional initiatives to raise awareness and fundraise.

Be prepared to travel as required. Keep up to date with developments within the trauma space
