We have an established Education provision in Shamley Green, Surrey, that is expanding. We have a new provision in Liss, Hampshire.

We have also recently opened a new alternative provision in West Horsley, Surrey, that will be an registered education provision.

We are recruiting this role for all sites due to this expansion.

All roles at Elysian involves 'rolling your sleeves up and getting stuck in', and this role is no different.

You will be involved in managing all aspects of the day programme along with leading a multi-skilled and multi-disciplinary team.

The challenges for the team lies in finding the niche and individual factors that engage each individual, and supporting them to progress towards their goals and aspirations.

The challenge for managers is managing a large adaptable and flexible environment that changes day to day and is fast moving and developing


This is a Leadership role, with responsibility for designing and delivering a bespoke and complex curriculum for individuals with SEN needs.

You need to be a resistant and tenacious hard working individual, with lots of passion for making it right for children and young people.

You may find yourself generally supporting teachers and other staff on how to ensure learning is incorporated in everything we do at the farm, and/or teaching a specialist area.

The day and the activities we do are completely varied through every day and week.

The provision has a weekly and daily structured programme based on the young people's Education and Care plans, the overall short and long term goals of the curriculum, and the young people's therapeutic and development goals.

Your focus will be overseeing and undertaking education and learning and attainment, and ensuring staff are able to follow up and facilitate each young persons learning goals.

You also have responsibilities as a Leader at Elysian, working closely with and deputising for the Head of Education and Learning, and ensure we are meeting and exceeding the Independent Schools Regulations.


Main Purpose:


The Deputy Head of Education at Elysian will hold a leadership position responsible for supporting and implementing the strategic vision set by the Head of Education and Learning.

This role will play a pivotal part in driving educational excellence, overseeing curriculum development, and ensuring effective resource management.

The Deputy Head of Education will closely collaborate with the Head of Education and Learning to achieve the provision's educational objectives across educational and alternative provision placements.

Duties and Responsibilities:


Curriculum Development and Leadership:

  • Collaborate with the Head of Education and Learning to develop and oversee innovative, specialised projects within the education domain, including EOTAS provision and future projects like Further Education curriculum.
  • Qualitymanage the development and delivery of education and skills lessons and programs according to established procedures.
  • Assist the Leadership Team in the development of highquality schemes of work mapped to curriculum outcomes, tailored to the target audience.
  • Contribute to the creation of progression pathways, including accreditation and outcome recording.
  • Facilitate teaching and provide supervision and guidance to teaching staff, including those responsible for Equine relevant pathways.
  • Participate in the development and execution of the Education and Skills strategy, including the qualification framework and other relevant development strategies in collaboration with curriculum providers.

Teaching and Learning Excellence:

  • Promote and uphold a culture of highquality teaching practices, incorporating evidencebased approaches and best practices.
  • Facilitate continuous professional development for teaching and support staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
