Step-A-Side is an organisation based in Gloucestershire and Monmouthshire providing residential care to Young People & Adults with Learning Disabilities and/or emotional and behavioural needs.

Person Specification


We are looking for a key member for our small office team as our organisation expands and develops new services.

The work is very varied, and we need someone who is adaptable, well-organised, shows initiative in the face of the unexpected, and possesses excellent IT and communication skills.

To be appointed, you would need to be supportive of the ethos and aims of the organisation towards its service users.

You will need to work confidently with Office 365, including SharePoint & Teams, Sage Cloud50 Payroll & Sage HR.

You will need to be confident with telephone enquiries and in dealing with people face-to-face and willing to assist in the overall work of Step-A-Side.

This position is based primarily at our head office in Coleford, Gloucestershire; but with the flexibility to work remotely from home depending on your broadband speed.


JOB DESCRIPTION
Payroll Administrator & Finance Support to Step-A-Side


Location
This position is hybrid remote. Dependent on your home broadband capacity.

Overall Purpose
To take day-to-day responsibility for payroll administration & assist with HR support. within the admin offices of Step-A-Side and its associated residential homes and activities.


Tasks

  • To assist the Financial Director with the running of the monthly payroll and other tasks as required within the finance department.
  • Assist in developing and implementation of electronic HR filing system.
  • To investigate and resolve employee and management pay queries.
  • To set up new starters and leavers on the payroll system.
  • To process statutory pension requirements.
  • To process and understand statutory payments such as SSP, SMP and SPP.
  • To process P45's, P60's, P11D's, AEO's and DEO's when required.
  • To process and keep track of employee annual leave usage.
  • To provide administrative support, as required, for the Financial
  • To provide support to the front desk during holidays or periods of sickness.

Hours and Remuneration
The post full-time hours each week.

Annual leave entitlement is 28 days per year, (begins on 1st April) which includes statutory and general national holidays.

The normal commencing salary will be between £21,450 - £23,400 pro rata, depending on relevant experience. Step-A-Side contributes to eligible employees auto-enrolled into pension scheme.
