- A MSc or higher qualification preferably in mathematics, statistics, epidemiology or a scientific background however applications from other disciplines are welcome
- 3+ years of experience as a Research Data Scientist or in a similar role
- Experience of routine healthcare datasets such as CPRD, SAIL, THIN, HES or PEDW.
- Knowledge of classification systems and terminology used in healthcare research
- An understanding of epidemiology.
- Proficient in at least one programming language, preferably R
- Familiar with Word, Excel and PowerPoint for presenting data in a variety of formats
- An interest in medical research and healthcare
- An understanding of statistics
- An excellent command of written English
- Organised and able to work within a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities and able to deliver results within tight deadlines
- An analytical mind and excellent attention to detail
- Prior experience with data manipulation using programming languages such as SQL
- An interest in data mining and machine learning techniques
- The ability to perform literature searches and systematic reviews

HDS is looking for a Research Data Scientist to join its team. You will be working in collaboration with our clients on research projects using electronic health records and clinical trial data to investigate and improve healthcare outcomes.
