The University


The Student Funding and Fee Policy Team sits within the Access and Admissions section of Education Services, supporting the academic purposes of the University, and provides a range of funding to students through the Cambridge Bursary Scheme, Postgraduate scholarships, and student loans.

It also plays a co-ordinating role for funding administered elsewhere in the Collegiate University.


About the Role


This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the Postgraduate Funding Project supporting the implementation and embedding of a new system to help coordinate and present the University's postgraduate funding to PG applicants in a more effective and strategic way.

This role will ensure the smooth running of the new system, enabling existing and new users to adopt the system and shape the future development of the system over the next few years.

This role is based in the Student Funding and Fee Policy Team (SFT).


You will:

  • Working as part of a team, carry out regular tasks to ensure the systems functions as expected and make necessary improvements to support our users to use the system more effectively eg training and support, answering user queries.
  • Collect and analyse user feedback to feed into system, process and policy improvements.
  • Extract and export datasets to produce accurate, timely management and business information reports.
  • Analyse data to identify trends, patterns and changes for use in informing department, colleges and committees to support strategy planning and policy development.
  • Provide first line technical support and assistance to our system users and acting as the point of liaison with the wider Project team.

What you will need:

  • Educated to first degree level or the equivalent.
  • Familiarity with computer databases, ability to input data quickly and accurately, ability to export, manipulate and analyse data and statistics, attention to detail, identifying trends and presenting in an accessible format.
  • Experience of working at a business or operational level to deliver technology change.
  • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and databases
  • Experience of managing good customer relationships
