- Design and analyse reinforced concrete structures for the Nuclear Island Buildings of EPR nuclear power plants,
- Perform structural calculations and modelling using ANSYS APDL or similar advanced software and tools, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards such as Eurocode, ETC-C related to
- Ensure the structural integrity and resilience of the reinforced concrete structures under various loads, including seismic, dynamic, impact of temporary works related to the construction sequence and environmental factors.
- Collaborate with detailing team including drafting team, BIM Coordinator and other designer engineers as well as the technical direction team to ensure coordination and integration of design requirements.
- Conduct calculations and structural assessments of design changes to determine the impact on the reinforced concrete structures and propose necessary design modifications.
- Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and construction documentation for the reinforced concrete structures.
- Conduct structural assessments, and evaluations during construction and provide technical support as needed.
- Work closely with construction contractors and site teams to resolve any structural issues or challenges during the construction phase.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and draftsmen involved in the structural design and detailing process.
- Collaborate with the client, construction team and the principal designer as well as regulatory bodies and authorities to ensure compliance with nuclear safety regulations and requirements.
- Produce designs following CDM regulations.
- Strong communication skills, independent working, presenting, and influencing skills.
- Stay updated with industry advancements, new technologies, and best practices in nuclear structural engineering.
- Experience of Structural Civil Work, Civil Design, RC detailing, steels structures with ETT-C or Eurocodes or other relevant codes
- Experience working on the design and analysis of reinforced concrete structures for nuclear power plants, specifically with European Pressurized Reactors (EPR)
- Knowledge of nuclear safety principles, regulations, and standards governing the design and construction of nuclear power plant structures
- Proficiency in using structural analysis software, such as ANSYS, SAP2000, or similar tools
- Familiarity with Eurocode standards and EPR-specific design guidelines for nuclear structures
- Strong understanding of seismic analysis and design principles for nuclear structures.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and regulatory authorities
