PURPOSE OF ROLE:


A Senior Finance leadership role managing a business partner team to provide value creating and advisory support to the Executive Team and senior management.

Responsibilities include development and maintenance of insightful financial reporting, annual budgeting, regular outlook forecasting, P&L analysis and vendor management.


The role holder will have an excellent knowledge and understanding of the business and its financials and the underlying performance drivers (KPIs), risk (KRIs) and control (KCIs) indicators to allow them to advise, challenge and support financial performance.


The role holder will build robust collaborative relationships with the executive and senior management team and will be a significant influencer and contributor to the business' decision making and performance in alignment with ii's and abrdn's strategic goals and objectives.

The Head of Financial Business Partnering will deputise for the Chief Finance Officer as required and as appropriate.


Requirements:


KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:


  • Lead the development and production of business partnering inputs to monthly accounts and subsequently management information reporting for Executive Committee, Board meetings and other committees as required providing insightful information and analysis on financials and KPIs in liaison with the executive and senior leadership.
  • Provide support to the production of Personal Vector and abrdn management information requirements.
  • Lead all budgeting, forecasting and longrange planning processes with full engagement with business management and ensuring business ownership for all financials and KPIs. Manage planning processes to ensure plans align to interactive investor strategy and goals and deliver to abrdn requirements and timetables.
  • Understand, evaluate, and present external market and competitor analysis relevant to the business and functional activities.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining an effective supplier management and procurement framework with robust controls and risk management processes.
  • Provide line management to the business partner and vendor management team. Establish and continuously develop a high performing team with clear performance objectives and development plans.
  • Deputise for the Chief Finance Officer as required and as appropriate.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of excellent business partnering relationships and establish a credible and valued presence with the executive and management teams.
  • Manage the development and presentation of insightful analysis of financial performance to business management developing their understanding of their revenue and expense performance, underlying drivers and risk and control indicators.
  • Use business knowledge, financial modelling and analytical skills to support management decision making.
  • Lead and support the delivery of Finance goals and objectives.
  • Highly selfmotivated finance professional with desire to continuously drive improving performance of the business
  • Maintain the first line of Risk/Compliance defence by ensuring individual adherence to business processes and procedures that are designed to meet the regulatory standards set out in the relevant FCA rules and guidance.
  • Make informed risk decisions and effectively and credibly debate and challenge management recommendations within your role in line with the approved Risk Management Framework.
  • Maintain the first line of defence by reviewing/supporting the risks and controls assigned to the department.
  • Promote change through Root Cause Analysis from Risk events completed.
