- Examines drawings and specifications to determine the best method and sequence of operations
- Selects work-holding devices and cutting tools
- Sets machine controls for speed and depth of cut
- Operates controls to feed tool to workpiece and ensures machining accuracy
- Repositions workpiece and changes tools during production
- Instructs operators on machine operation
- Designs CNC programs and sets up functions using software
- Adjusts cutting pathways and loads raw materials
- Inputs product design into computer software and selects cutting tools
- Adjusts machine settings to meet product specifications
- Troubleshoots manufacturing issues and performs quality control
- Maintains and cleans machines, while training new staff on procedures
- The ability to follow work instructions and perform written tasks effectively
- Advanced skills in milling, turning, grinding, and CNC programming
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings
- Familiarity with measuring equipment and tools
- Knowledge of tool life and Good Documentation Practice (GMP)

Starting off at Inviso Group as a Miller, Turner, and CNC Programmer, you'll be responsible for preparing and operating various machines such as Okuma, Colchester lathe, X,Y,Z machine. Utilizing specialized machining software is essential to ensure accurate machining of parts according to design specifications. Attention to detail is key from start to finish. Additionally, there will be a focus on manual tooling, lathe operation, work centering, and metallurgical processes to support production in various areas.
To excel in this role, you'll need strong numerical skills, an analytical mindset, and a dedicated approach to improving processes. Your performance will be closely monitored, with coaching and mentorship provided to guide you towards the next level if desired, along with support for your career progression within the company.
