Reading, Luton or Watford – hybrid working

We have a great opportunity that has arisen with our dedicated Fire Safety team for a Fire Safety Surveyor. The primary function of the role will be to oversee the fire risk assessment works for Southern Housing. Some key duties include:

• Ensuring that all designated fire risk assessment works are actioned and correctly undertaken within the prescribed timescales.
• Ensuring that all Southern Housing's properties owned and managed properties are maintained to the highest possible standards and that all statutory and regulatory requirements are met.
• Ensuring that staff, residents, leaseholders, managing agencies and property owners are provided with a high standard of service.

Your main office base will be Fleet House, Farringdon, where you'll be required to travel to once a month. You'll be predominantly working across sites in Reading, Luton and Watford. Some hybrid working will be included.

What you'll need

• Experience as a fire/building surveyor in a maintenance environment carrying out pre and post inspections with a Fire Qualification NEBOSH fire or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order 2005.
• Experience of working with contractors using SOR and non-SOR contracts.
• The ability to produce detailed specifications of work.
• Knowledge of relevant and current, codes of practice, building regulations, health and safety legislation, standards and materials.
• Knowledge of contract management.
